Excited no more!

|

Now that my trip to the Philippines is so close, 13 days left to be exact, I feel like the grand excitement is falling off. Seems like I am not excited anymore to come see my family and friends.  Tight budget is holding me up. I mentioned before that I have enough savings but not anymore. I've used almost half of it buying gifts for everybody, what's left is not enough to treat my family and friends somewhere else, I guess.

The hubby asked me if I am excited to fly home. I said that I am not, seriously. He frowned because he is so excited for me and my answer offended him. I just can't hide my emotion these times. My mind is stressing over this trip.

I hope to get paid later this week or sooner next week that I have more to add to my pocket money. Oh, God, please help me with this. I just want to make everybody happy. I believe they are excited to see me but how can I call them to see me when I have nothing left to treat them for a snack or a meal in a restaurant or in any  food stall.

Frustrations. Expectations.  I'll get over it. I know something will come my way in God's will.

Money, money, money...Can someone shower me with some just for my trip? :)

oh! oh! I understand how you feel, Lir. The problem is actually not with you but with the Filipino culture. Kay ngano man jud nga mag-expect ug gifts? Hehe. Pero kay culture naman jud nato na, mao nga naandan nalang pud. Pero if our aim is to please everybody, that's a different story. I know FIlipinos are generous ra jud at heart pero unta ang receiver dili magexpect too much. Kung unsa ra gud ang naa.

Anyways, smile and just think that your family back home misses you a lot and can't wait to see you very soon.

I can't wait to see you in the flesh as well. Di na mi kaau busy ana kay human na ang elections by the time muuli ka. Can't wait to hang around with you. My treat :-)

Sis, you'll get over it, try to explain to the current situation. Life here is hard, they will understand. The priority is for you and Danielle to see your family back home.

Hello Ms. Lira, don't worry it happened to me when I visited my family in the Philippines earlier this year. Tanang tao didto sa amoa nag expect nga apil sila dunay gasa from me kakapoy nalang gyud. Pero don't worry am sure everything will be okay. Kung baga it's really hard to please everyone there hibaw naka sa culture nato. Basta keep your chin up high ang importante mabisita nimo sila.Happy trip!

Hala! Naa jud diay ko pasalubong ani, hehe. Maexcite pud baya ta :-) Bitaw Lir, to those people who are really close to your heart, it doesn't matter if you have something for them or not. Your mere presence would mean a lot to them.

Gemma Flores-Massey? Classmate man namo na ni Lerma high school. Magkaila diay mo? Unta magkita pud ta nila Lynn. She is from GenSan as well.
