16 pound tumor removed from a Vietnamese face

I just read this article earlier.

Lai Thi Dao, a Vietnamese teen underwent a 12-hour surgery in Miami to remove a 7 kilogram tumor on her face. She left Jackson Memorial Medical Center last April 22 after the surgery.

The tumor known as Schwannoma which is said to be benign covered most of the lower part of her face. The tumor is said to be one of the the largest according to University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center doctors.

Lai will go back to school after her recovery and hope she'll enjoy her new life now.

Fruits of blogging

For over a month of blogging or creating paid posts, I earned quite a lot. My first earnings were sent to my family in the Philippines. I prioritized my mom as it was her birthday (8 days ago). Baby shower...just updating

At last! baby shower is over. It was so tiring but we had fun. Lots of people came over bringing with them their gifts and foods. Most were from Chad's family and friends. It was so good of them spending time and money just to be in the said occasion eventhough it was really raining.

Picture perfect : flowers

World's youngest professor

She is so amazing. My sister is her age and still a second year college student but this girl is already a professor.

Wimbledon tennis tournament

I haven't watched a real professional tennis tournament in my whole life. I did watch amateur tournaments before but it wasn't really the one's I've seen on the television wherein players really move like a pro. They were so quick and very good at their craft. Well, they should be anyway. It's a huge game with everything involved.

Now that I am here in America, one of my goal is to watch a professional tournament. Tennis tournament is one of it. Though it's not happening here in the United States, at least I am closer to London and it would be quite easy for me to get there with my status.

Of course, I know now where and how to purchase Wimbledon tennis tickets for me and my husband and perhaps with our kid as well. Watching the game would be another experience of our lives. Our oldies are mostly behind when it comes to the new technologies we have now. Like for instance the cellular phone. For them, it's kinda difficult to use. No matter how you instruct them on how to use each features of the phone, still they can't get it.

I remember my grandma's action the first time she used a cellular phone. She doesn't own one though. It was her birthday and everybody-- from her children down to grandchildren were at her house for a celebrationexcept for my older brother who wasn't able to celebrate with us as he can't get off from work as a military. I wondered why she was saying it. What seemed to be the matter? She told me she can't hear my brother. Later than I knew that the speaker of the phone was on her cheek instead over her ears. From that time on, she don't want to use any phone. I was thinking she was embarrassed with what had happened.

Princess Diana inquest rises to $9 million

The cost of the coroner's inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and boyfriend Dodi Fayed has risen to more than 4.5 million pounds ($9 million; €5.5 million), the coroner reported Tuesday.

The figure does not include the last few days of the inquest.

The largest expenditure was some 1.85 million pounds ($3.7 million; €2.3 million) in fees for the lawyers who assisted the coroner, Lord Justice Scott Baker.

The coroner's jury concluded earlier this month that the couple were unlawfully killed due to the reckless behavior of the paparazzi who pursued them, and the reckless driving and drinking of their driver, Henri Paul.

A British police investigation ordered by a previous coroner and legal representation for police at the inquest cost 8 million pounds ($16 million; €10 million).

The 4.5 million pound figure ($9 million; €5.5 million) does not include costs for lawyers representing the Secret Intelligence Service and the Foreign Office at the inquest. source

On having a checking account

Blogging have made changes in my life. My time is being divided from catching and writing the opps to maintaining our house. Not to mention the time spent with hubby. Found chopped head of Pinay waitress in Japan

The chopped head of a mutilated Filipina in Japan’s Odaiba district was finally discovered on Friday (April 11) in a canal near the victim’s apartment, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

Philippine Embassy in Tokyo Charge d’ Affaires Gina Jamoralin reported that with the recovery of Honiefaith Ratilla Kamiosawa’s head, Japanese police have finally sealed off any doubts about the victim’s identity.
