Humba (braised pork with sugar)


For my buddies Gladys and Jackie, this one is for you. I had a great meal eating humba with a plate full of rice.

Humba or braised pork with sugar is one of the most after dish in the Philippines. For almost every occasion, this is being prepared.

Obviously, my humba is unlikely what we were used to have. It is because a did not use pork belly. Mine was just cuts from pork chops with soy sauce, onions, garlic, sugar and black beans. Just take note that black beans in Walmart is not as tasty as what we get from the Filipino or Oriental store.

wow, yummy! I like humba, especially with black beans sauce. It's great with tofu too!
