Are all your computers have internet access? Get it all connected. Purchase a wireless router at buy.com. This networking stuff really works. We are using this for months now and we never have problems with our internet connection in any of our computers.
Rest assured if you have a wireless router, all your computers will have the same connection speed. Wherever you computers are, whether all are closer to the modem or not, you are still connected.
